Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see a rheumatologist?
We are a referral based practice and do require that your pcp sends a referral via fax to 407-676-4705. Once we receive the referral we will give a call to schedule the appointment.
What conditions do rheumatologists treat?
We specialize in autoimmune and inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, gout, psoriatic arthritis, and other joint, muscle, and connective tissue disorders. We also provide comprehensive diagnostic services for unexplained joint pain.
How soon can I get an appointment?
We understand that joint pain and autoimmune symptoms can significantly impact your daily life. We strive to schedule new patients ASAP. Established patients can typically be seen in a cancellation spot so long as lab results are complete and ready for the doctor to review.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, insurance cards, a list of current medications, any recent lab results or imaging studies, and a summary of your symptoms including when they started and what makes them better or worse. This helps us provide the most effective care.
Do you offer same-day lab results?
At this time, we do not currently offer in office lab services. You will receive the requisition and as a new patient you can take it to the lab the same day. As an established patient unless you are trying to be seen a bit sooner, we ask that the labs are done a MINIMUM of 2 weeks before the appointment.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most major insurance plans including Medicare, and most commercial insurers. Our billing team is experienced in rheumatology coverage and can help verify your benefits before your appointment. We also offer payment plans for uninsured patients
